President, Mia’s Children Foundation USA
Joan Castle and her husband Darrell began Mia’s Children with Mia Scarlat in 1998 after Mia spent three months living with them in Tennessee. Together the two women grew to know and understand each others’ hearts, and their time together fostered in Joan a love for Romanian children.
She now serves as the U.S. President of Mia’s Children, overseeing the finances and marketing for the American donor base. Her hope is that Mia’s Children can be an instrument of change in the lives of Romanian children and the Romanian culture around them.
Joan also manages the Law Office of Darrell Castle and Associates in Memphis, TN, and Castle Law Offices of Kansas City, MO. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama, and has lived in Memphis since 1976. She strongly believes in prayer and enjoys spending time with her husband Darrell, daughter Joanna and son-in-law Michael.
