Code Red – Dangerously Hot in Bucharest
The heat is still over 103° F and Mia describes life this way:
“Miss all of you and your fresh air. You have to see the city fills with garbidge, the people trying to find some shade and nobody care that the water it’s so infected. They just announced that the people cannot drink water because the viruses, but what other solutions? So, we need to buy water, good water to drink.”

Update on Costel
While Mia and Costel were here, several of you commented that you wanted to be a part of insuring Costel got good medical treatment. There is a new hospital in Bucharest – Euroclinic that Dr. Milt feels is a good place for Costel to be treated. There are 2 specialists that Milt has recommended one that specializes in diabetes and one specifically in liver disease. Mia is making an appointment with each of them. So, if you would like to help cover the medical expenses, please let me know. I will be keeping close tabs on the treatment and the costs. Thank you in advance for helping.
On The Brighter Side…
Mario Robert is out of the hospital and doing much better. His upset stomach that caused dehydration is another example of why feeding these children a well-balanced diet is such a high priority even though it is very expensive. One way to get fresh vegetables is to grow them yourself. Nicoleta is in charge of the mission’s first garden. They have tomatoes, cucumbers and several peppers. According to Mia,
“All the crowd from here work every day to take off the weeds and the most excited time in the day it’s at 7 o’ clock p.m. when we wet the garden. We have a long hose, but not long enough for our garden, so we need use our fingers to make the water run farther.”
The end of the day brings Mia, Costel and the kids to the point of speaking about the Lord and praying together. It is a time for encouragement and comforting. Please remember to take time out of your busy schedule and lift these precious people up to God. It is our responsibility but more so our privilege!
