But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Lord bless us with forgiving and peacemaking hearts, so that we can care for others as Joseph did. Teach us to love children in need, even as we pray against their parents’ brokenness. Amen.

Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Isaiah 9:7

Lord we lift up to you the men and women fighting in wars around the world right now. This past week Romania lost soldiers in Afghanistan – a rare thing for that country. We ask for resolution to the violence, and we pray that you will give us hope for your kingdom and the peace we will share there. Amen.
